"Eubanks Lineage Book, Descendants of Dr. James Albert Eubanks", Part I, Arkansas descendants, 1969; Part II, Franklin Co., IL descendants, 1970, hence the "F" at front of number; by Northwest Arkansas Eubanks Family Association, published privately. Family has not been completely developed after William Smith Eubanks and (Mary) Matilda Eubanks.
The numbering systems, of these lines, are very confusing. The "Eubanks Lineage" book was written by the descendants of Dr. James Albert Eubanks who moved from Franklin Co., IL to Madison Co., Arkansas. His children have no alpha character in front of their number. Their numbers start with one thru nine; Mary Matilda Eubanks was given the number "0" for the tenth child; his 11th child was not given a number but an alpha character "C", and he had no issue. "EU #09 in the Arkansas line would be: James Albert Eubanks, the first of line, these are his descendants: "EU #0, Matilda Eubanks, James' 10th child, and "EU #09 Nancy, Matilda's ninth child. -- ; When they covered the descendants in Franklin Co., IL, they assumed that the father of Dr. James Albert Eubanks and his brother, John Eubanks, was William H. Eubanks, Sr. They put an "F" for Franklin Co., IL in front of the numbers. William H. Eubanks had nine children; James was given the number "F2", the 2nd son, and John was given the number "F3", the 3rd son.
(Mary) Matilda therefore has two numbers: "0" for the 10th child of Dr. James Albert Eubanks in the Arkansas lines and "F20" in the Franklin Co. lines. Since she was left in Illinois when Dr. James left for Arkansas, we will only recognize the Franklin Co., IL numbering system here. Another change they made in the numbering system in Franklin Co., IL was to give numbers only to the male children in the line; the female children were given a small alpha character, therefore, Nancy Elizabeth Eubanks was given the number "F20d" in the line of Dr. James Albert Eubanks. Franklin Co. being "F", James was the 2nd child, and Matilda, James' 10th child and "d" for Nancy, her 4th female child. -- Also Nancy was given the number "F34d" in the line of John Eubanks; John being the third son, and William, John's fourth son, and Nancy "d" being the fourth female child born in William's family.
; --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EU #F34d11 - Line of William Smith Eubanks, son of John Eubanks.
EU #F20d11 - Line of (Mary) Matilda Eubanks, daughter of James Eubanks.
; Dr. James Albert Eubank's Arkansas No. for Nancy would be "EU #09."
Samuel Adam Hill, son of William Peter Hill, and Matilda Catherine Zoller
William Peter Hill, son of Nancy Elizabeth Eubanks and Samuel Peter Hill
Nancy Elizabeth Eubanks, daughter of William Smith Eubanks,
and (Mary) Matilda Eubanks.
William Smith Eubanks, son of John Eubanks and Nancy Smothers.
(Mary) Matilda Eubanks, daughter of Dr. James Albert Eubanks,
and (Mary) Matilda Rea.
John Eubanks, son of William H. Eubanks
Dr. James Albert Eubanks, son of Willian H. Eubanks
William H. Eubanks, father of Dr. James Albert Eubanks and John Eubanks.
Alexander "Alex" Eubanks?
Franklin Co. descendants believe that an Alex Eubanks was the father of James and John Eubanks; "Eubanks Lineage Book," accepts William H. Eubanks as their father. We have come to the following conclusion. We believe that William H. Eubanks was the father of James and John, and that William was the son of Alexander "Alex" Eubanks.
