Miss Fannie Meyering, daughter of Mvi. Annie Meyering, and Harold Berven exchanged wedding vows at the Methodist church in Burr Oak on Sunday afternoon, July 10, with the Rev. C. W. Huffman officiating.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meyering, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, were the attendants.
The bride was attired in a white nylon dress and carried a bouquet of red roses. Her attendant wore a pink dress and a white carnation corsage.
The bride's mother wore navy blue and had a pink carnation corsage.
The groom received his discharge from the Army in February. Mrs. Berven is a graduate of the Buffalo Center High School. The couple will reside on the Berven farm.
The bridal party and Mrs. Annie Meyering were dinner guests"

Casketbearers were Dave Folkerts, Sherman Meyering, Troy Koester,Rick Folkerts, Tim Meyering and Rick Buress. Interment was in Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center. Fannie passed away Sunday, December 21. Winter Funeral Home in Buffalo Center was in charge of arrangements.
Fannie Arlene Smidt, daughter of Tony and Annie (Brass) Meyering, was born May 28, 1933 near Buffalo Center. She was a graduate of Buffalo Center High School with the class of 1950. She was united in marriage to Harold Berven on July 10,1955. This union was blessed with a daughter, Joni. Harold passed away in 1965 when Joni was three years old.

The organist was Vera Bronleewe. Specialmusic was provided by Nicole Mehls. The congregation also sang. On December 2, 1972, Fannie married John Smidt and this union was blessed with a daughter, Kathy. Fannie lived most of her life in the Buffalo Center and Thompson area. She worked hard providing for her daughters and giving them a lovinghome. In 1994, she and Kathy moved to Algona in order for Kathy to receive the education she needed. Other than her own children, her family was very dear to her and she loved to travel and visit them. She also enjoyed music and likedto garden.
Fannie is survived by her daughters, Joni Mehls and her husband, Richard, of Spencer; Kathy Smidt of Algona; her two granddaughters, Nicole and Amy Mehls; two sisters, Annie Wepel of Buffalo Center and Everdena Folkerts of Thompson; herbrother, John Meyering, and his wife, Phyllis, of Clear Lake; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; two brothers, Fred and Richard Meyering."
