However, he was baptized 18 Dec 1790 at Christ Lutheran Church in York, PA and his baptism record gives his birthdate as 12 Aug 1790.

    Daniel was the third of eleven children of John Frederick Hake (1759-1830) and Catherina Crone (1763-1851). In May 1813 at Christ Lutheran Church of York, PA, he married Sarah Elizabeth "Sally" Ilgenfritz (1796-bet 1822-28). They had six children:
