"Opoe, de oudste parochiaan van de H.Henricusparochie, ws een diepgelovig mens, en zo lang het haar mogelijk was, ook een trouwe kerkgangster. Ze heeft altijdhard moeten werken, Haar eenvoud typeerde haar karakter. Na het overlijden van opa in 1956 voelde ze zich erg eenzaam, en wilde graag dat haar dochter en schoonzoon bij haar kwamen inwonen. Toch wilde zij geheel op zichzel leven, zelfstanding als ze was. Haar kleinkinderen en achterkleinkinderen betekenden veel voor haar, zuh keefde echt met hen mee, en kende al de verjaardagen uit haar hoofd. Het was jammer dat ze de laatste tijd zo slecht  zag, en ook haar gehoor werd steeds minder. Opoe wilde niemand tot last zijn, maar wel graag op de hoogte blijven  wat er in de wereld allemaalgebeurde. Gelukkig hebben wij haar in familieband tot het laatste zelf kunnen blijven verzorgen. We zullen haar altijd dankbaar blijven voor haar lange leven temidden van ons"
