== Biography ==Thomasin was the daughter of Thomas Kirkham of Blakdon, Devon and Cecily daughter of William Carew, Knt. of Mohun Ottery.Colby, Frederic Thomas ed. Visitation of the County of Devon in the year 1564, with additions from the earlier Visitation of 1531. (Exeter, 1881). She was called Susan in the 1620 Visitation, resulting in much confusion. But she was Thomasin in the 1564 Visitation. She was also called Thomasin by [[Poole-118|Sir William Pole]], the Devon historian, who notes that his own daughter [[Pole-69|Katherine]] married Thomasin's son Thomas. She is named Thomasin in her children's baptism records.
