Fear was the daughter of John and Esther (White) Joyce.
Fear Joyce: Born 15 February 1712/13 at Yarmouth, Rhode Island. Died at Warwick, Rhode Island on 10 June 1748, age 36. Married Christopher Smith (b. 14 Oct 1703 at Warwick, d. there 10 Feb 1752, age 50), son of Captain Simon and Mary (Andrews) Smith, at Greenwich, Rhode Island on 9 January 1731/32.
