Notes about Alexander Ferdinand Vorst van Thurn en Taxis

Op 20 mei 1749 wordt de heerlijkheid Ballmertshofen gekocht van de vrijheer van St.Vincent. De heerlijkheid maakte deel uit van het kanton Kochter van de Rijksridderschap.

Sinds de familie in 1695 in de rijksvorstenstand was verheven werd er gestreefd naar een zetel in het college de rijksvorsten in de rijksdag. Uiteindelijk lukt dat op 30 mei 1754.
