Notes about Eugene Alexander "Eugene" Vorst van Thurn en Taxis

Op 19-2-1681 werden hun bezittingen in de Spaanse Nederlanden (Kasteelbrakel en Haut-Ittre) verheven tot een Spaans vorstendom Thurn und Taxis. De heerlijkheid Horn werd in 1681 verkocht aan de familie Reichlin von Meldegg.
Eugen Alexander von Thurn und Taxis werd in 1686 door Leopold I in de rijksvorstenstand verheven, een status die op 4 oktober 1695 erfelijk werd. In 1701 werd de familie tijdens de Spaanse Succesieoorlog uit de Nederlanden verdreven en vestigde zich in Frankfurt am Main, waar het Paleis Thurn und Taxis werd gebouwd.
