Zijn wapen werd met hem in het graf gelegd en is daar nog aanwezig.
Wolfert 18e heer van Brederode volgde in 1657 zijn broer Hendrik op als 18e en laatste heer van Brederode, heer van Vianen, Ameide en Noordeloos enz.
Hij kreeg in 1656 als ritmeester de compagnie te paard, die zijn broer in 1652 had gekregen, beëdigd 1665, en werd 17 sep. 1673 (commissie 8 feb. 1674) kolonel in Staatse dienst.
De heerlijkheid Brederode verviel aan de Staten van Holland (Res. H. 25 jul en 19 sep 1679).
