Notes about Peter Frans Thibaut

Raadsheer en schepen van Ieper, en kerkmeester van de Ieperse Sint-Maartenskathedraal. In 1690 woonde hij tijdelijk in Komen (Comines). Hij verrichtte verschillende kerkelijke stichtingen. Ze werden begraven vóór de Heilige Kruiskapel in de Sint-Maartenskerk in Ieper.
In Ieper bevond zich hun gedenksteen in wit marmer, met hun familiewapens en volgend opschrift:
“Hic jacet Ds Petrus Franciscus de Thibault, fs Dni Petri, et Dnae Marie de Lille, et Da Sara Clara de Boeuf, ejus conjux; urbis senator hic … et … de paupere vere sollicitus, obiit 22 Aprilis 1703, aetatis 75; altera 5 July 1687, aetatis suae 51. Abi, et, in aeternum vivant, dic, viator. R.I.P.”.
