    Woonde in Borger, aan boord (1*). Zoon van arbeider Roelof Doldersum (5 november 1840 Achterom, gemeente Hoogeveen – 6 november 1902 Tiendeveen, gemeente Beilen) en Jantien Stuifzand (17 april 1840 Stuifzand, gemeente Ruinen – 3 april 1915 Beilen). Huwde op 9 augustus 1902 met Johanna Kroezen (24 april 1885 Stuifzand, gemeente Ruinen). Schipper/mandenmaker. Nederlands Hervormd. Op de Bevrijdingsdag van Borger bereidde mevrouw Doldersum de middagmaaltijd. Tegen twaalf uur verschenen enkele Duitse militairen die op de vlucht waren voor de oprukkende geallieerde troepen, bij het jaagpad langs het kanaal Buinen-Schoonoord. Ze gingen de roef van het binnenschip in en eisten de net gaar gekookte aardappelen op. Doldersum maakte zich hierover erg boos, schold naar hen en moet iets hebben geroepen van 'hau ab' (rot op). Een van de Duitsers schoot hem daarop dood.
    (1*) De overlijdensakte van de gemeente Borger vermeldt 's-Gravenhage als woonplaats. In het gedigitaliseerde deel van de Digitale Stamboom/Gemeentearchief Den Haag komt de overlijdensakte van Daniël Doldersum echter niet voor.

    Begraven op de Begraafplaats aan de Westdorperstraat in Borger, vak IX, rij 7, grafnummer 23.
