    Moeder was erg begaan met het wel en wee van zowel de kinderen als de kleinkinderen. Ze was trouw aanwezig op de verjaardagen van kinderen en kleinkinderen en ook de trouwdata werden door haar niet vergeten. Haar eigen verjaardag met heel het gezin om zich heen, was het hoogtepunt van het jaar. Zorgzaam en ijverig was ze in de tuin en in het huishouden. Haar vrije tijd besteedde ze aan bloemen verzorgen, puzzelen en lezen. Ze was een zeer gelovige vrouw met een grote Mariaverering. Haar rozenkrans lag altijd wel ergens in de buurt. Ook in de periode van alleen zijn genoot ze intens van het samen eten met een van de kleinkinderen. Wie aan de beurt was bij oma mee te eten, voelde zich gelukkig. Ze was altijd heel tevreden en dankbaar voor alles wat men voor haar deed en ze voelde zich bezwaard als ze anderen tot last was, vooral in de laatste levensperiode. Ondanks de ernst van haar ziekte, behield ze toch haar humor en haar nuchtere kijk op het leven.
