De ouders van de bruidegom waren aanwezig en gaven hun toestemming; de vader van de bruid had reeds bij notariële akte zijn toestemming gegeven;de moeder van de bruid was overleden.
Getuigen waren Arjen Louws Biesma, oud 47 jaar, dienaar van politie, Koenelis Veenstra, oud 47 jaar, Pieter Zeeman, oud 31 jaar en Ebele Nieuwholt, oud 24 jaar, de laatste drie klerken, allen wonende te Drachten.
De bruidegom en zijn ouders verklaarden geen schrijven geleerd te hebben.

Tjeerd en Romkje hadden beiden een verklaring van onvermogen.

Voor mij Zijtse Sijbouts de Haan, notaris te Leeuwarden, provincie Friesland, is in tegenwoordigheid van na te noemen getuigen, verschenen:
Machiel van der Wal, kuipersknecht, wonende te Leeuwarden, mij notaris bekend.
Welke verklaarde zijne toestemming te geven tot het huwelijk, hetwelk zijne minderjarige dochter Romkje van der Wal, gesproten uit zijn huwelijk met wijlen Margaretha Christina Jorna, voornemens is aan te gaan met Tjeerd Huitema, schippersknecht, wonende te Dragten.
Waarvan acte in originali.
Gedaan en verleden te Leeuwarden op heden den acht en twintigsten Junij achtiehonderd drie en tachtig, in tegenwoordigheid van Thomas Boshuijer, notarisklerk wonende te Leeuwarden en van Izaäk van der Werff, mede notarisklerk wonende onder Huizum, als getuigen mij notaris bekend.
En is deze acte onmiddellijk na voorlezing ondergeteekend geworden door den comparant, de getuigen en mij notaris.
