De twee broers Klaas en Henk liepen in de voetsporen van hun vader. En zij liepen daarin langdurig. Het kwam vader goed uit twee flinke, maar vooral goedkope knechten in het groeiende bedrijf te kunnen inzetten. Kregen de broers verkering en wilden zij ‘uitvliegen’ - best, maar voorlopig nog niet. Langdurige verlovingen waren (eigenlijk voor alle kinderen van Hendrik Sr.) een min of meer onverdragelijk gegeven.
Klaas en Henk zaten dan wel in hetzelfde vak, maar met duidelijk verschillende ambities. Klaas bezat een uitgesproken handelsgeest, Henk was op en top een kweker. Dat uitte zich ook in hun prestaties. Als zakenman wist Klaas goed zijn mondje te roeren en met handen en voeten zijn argumentatie kracht bij te zetten. Henk had een overwegend stille relatie met zijn planten, die hij kon liefkozen en toespreken. Na zijn huwelijk in 1923, na 9 jaar verloofd geweest te zijn, kwam Henk als tuinbaas in dienst op het buitengoed van baron Van Heerdt, die de villa ’Voor Eng’ aan de Eemnesserweg in Baarn bewoonde. Henk bewoonde met zijn gezin het naast de villa en onder de bomen gelegen knusse tuinmanshuis. Na 10 tot 12 jaar bij baron Van Heerdt gewerkt te hebben werd hij tuinbaas bij mej. Druyvestein in Haarlem. Na zijn pensionering werkt hij nog geruime tijd als zelfstandig hovenier in Haarlem en omgeving. Zijn gehele leven bestond uit keihard werken om het gehele jaar het hoofd boven water te kunnen houden. Hij was een kundig vakman met een grote kennis van een veelheid aan planten en hun kweekwijze. Voors was hij een door en door goed mens, bescheiden en diep gelovig. Ondanks de handicap die zijn doofheid hem van jongsaf bezorgde, wist zijn levendige geest een sprankelende humor uit te dragen. (Er zijn meer Hornsvelden die met doofheid te kampen hebben, o.a. zijn zuster Marie.) Klaas, zoals opgemerkt meer zakenman en minder kweker, was voor het bedrijf een welkome tegenpool van zijn broer Henk. De produkten van Burbankia moesten immers ook aan de man gebracht worden. Na zijn huwelijk in 1925 bleef hij het bedrijf trouw en reed met de oude Ford (G-1394) een of meerdere malen per week naar Amsterdam en omliggende plaatsen. Hier verwierf hij zich een vast circuit van bloemisten, waar hij de thuis gekweekte, dikwijls ook op contract gekweekte planten kon afzetten. Dat had zijn grote liefde: handelen, verkopen en een praatje maken. Hij was goed van de tongriem gesneden. Grappen en grollen lagen op zijn tong. Leek hij naar buiten toe een druk en Beweeglijk mannetje, binnen de met planten behangen muren van zijn gezellige woning viel alle drukte weg. Evenals zijn broers en zussen was hij altijd opgewekt. Verdriet en zorgen, die er zeker waren, kon men hem met aanzien. Als symbool voor zijn blijheid droeg hij, elke dag opnieuw en tot aan zijn laatste levensdag, een grote witte anjer in het knoopsgat van zijn colbertje. De zorg voor het bedrijf lag hem na aan het hart. Vooral toen zijn vader op leeftijd kwam, nam hij hem de zware klussen uit handen. In strenge winters was hij het, die 's nachts zijn warme bed verliet om de verwarmingsketels van een extra portie brandstof te voorzien. Want de dahliaknollen, slapend onder de kweektabletten, moesten toch veilig de winter worden doorgeloodst. Er zijn foto’s, waarop te zien is, hoe hij zijn oude moeder tijdens de benzine-arme periode van 1944-1945 in een zelf gemaakt wagentje achter de fiets naar familie en kerk reed. Maar hij was dan ook moeders Klaassie. Klaas overleed plotseling achter het stuur van zijn net gestarte, maar nog niet rijdende auto. Henk is begraven op Algemene Begraafplaats aan de Herfstlaan in Heemstede.
