OBITUARY:
VANDERMARKT - Mr. Gerald "Bud" John VanderMarkt, age 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, June 21, 2009. Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Laura, daughter, Cheryl, granddaughter, Lisa; sister, Dorothy, and brother, John. He is survived by his children, Cindy (Bern) Wiegers of Jenison, Dan (Sue) VanderMarkt of Grandville, and Bob (Kathy) VanderMarkt of Athens, AL; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Sis (Arnold) Zicherman, and Arlene (Gerald) VandenBerg; sisters-in-law, Joyce VanderMarkt, Tresa Zylema, and Martha Beute; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, with Dr. Daniel Mouw officiating. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Bud's family Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home (west building) and Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of his service.
