Vlasser te Oud-Beijerland. Teunis' oudere broers begonnen een eigen vlasserij, terwijl Teunis in 1777 het bedrijf in de Grimhoek van zijn moeder overnam. Hij stopte in1794 plotseling met de vlasserij, waarschijnlijk omdat hij door slechte bedrijfsleiding financiëel aan de grond gekomen was. Reeds in 1772 was hij door de kerkeraad onder censuur gesteld, wegens spelen en drinken in herbergen. Deze levenswijze zal mede een oorzaak geweest zijn, dat het bedrijf te gronde ging. Zijn zoons zetten devlasserij niet voort, zij waren er waarschijnlijk financiëel niet toe in staat, terwijl ook de marktsituatie door het Continentale stelsel van Napoleon verslechterde.
