CAPELLEN (Godard Philip Cornelis Theodorus van der), heer van Dorth, Berkenwoude en Achterbroek, geb. (vermoedelijk op den Boedelhoff) 1 Juli 1733, overl. 1 Mei 1779, begr. te Gorssel, zoon van Frederik Robert Evert, hiervóór, en van A.M.E.v.Lijnden d' Aspremont.

Hij werd in 1753 burgemeester van Zutphen en kocht in 1759 Dorth, Berkenwoude en Achterbroek. Wegens Dorth admissibel verklaard in de ridderschap van Zutphen, nam hij zitting 13 April 1761, werd gecommitteerd ter vergadering van H.H. Mog. en was sedert 1760 commies-generaal tot de convooien en licenten. Hij was ook gecommitteerd tot de beneficieering van den Neder-Rijn en den IJsel en werd 9 Aug. 1777 vanwege de stad Zutphen benoemd tot curator der hoogeschool te Harderwijk, welk ambt hij dooroverlijden slechts twee jaar kon bekleeden.

Hij was in 1760 gehuwd met Emerentia Cornelia van der Capellen, dochter van Gerlach Frederik, hiervóór, en van Catharina de Leeuw. Uit dit huwelijk werden geen kinderen geboren.

Zijn door een onbekend kunstenaar geschilderd portret bij baron van der Capellen te 's Gravenhage.
