Tjeerdje kwam als dienstbode mee met ds Abraham Loois bij zijn beroeping als predikant van de Geref. Kerk. De predikant en zijn vrouw lieten na het overlijden van Tjeerdje een gedicht drukken dat 25 coupletten van 4 regels bevatte. Het betrof een lofzang op Tjeerdje en 15 van de 25 coupletten begonnen met de woorden 'Helaas! zij is niet meer...' Tjeerdje, die binnen het domineesgezin 'Tette' werd genoemd, was geen lang huwelijksgeluk beschoren. Ze stierf 14 maanden na haar huwelijk met Huijbrecht.
