Notes about Waal (thietes) (Wall,Wahl)


The church books of the Dutch Reformed Church in Dronrijp between 1617 and 1658 are lost. No wonder there is nothing to find about Waltye Yntes and her parents. Based on the names of her children and grandchildren such as Ymck or Imkjen and Waltje or Waltie, I have found appropriate names in the baptism books of Dronrijp, written between 1600 and 1616.
The baptism of Imck Bockes in 1606 in Dronrijp is very appropriate, especially since her mothers name is Waal or Wall Thietes, also known as Wahl. She comes from Follega and Bocke comes from Dronrijp. The third proclamation of their marriage in 1602 has been found.

The confirmation (Franeker 1673) of the marriage of Stoffel Louws and Waltye Yntes also used the name Wall.
It becomes doubtful (more or less) if you consider that mother Ymck or Imck already had an age of 38 years if Waltye was born in est.1644. It is quite possible that Waltye has been born a few years earlier. Imck Bockes has a brother Tiete Bockes named, born in 1603 in Dronrijp.
