EUGENE WILLIAM JOY died in Qld on 19th Oct 1962 and PRICILLA LILY died 31st March 1935. I do not know the reason for Eugene's death but I have been told Pricilla took her own life while the family were at church. One of her daughters found her on arrival home. My dad was only 3yrs old and never really got over not having his mum around. Dad was then placed in an orphanage (Catholic Convent), as his dad could not handle a baby on his own. Dad's sisters were that bit older and didn’t need so much so they got to stay with their father. My dad had a rough childhood.

Notes about Priscilla Lily Hewlett

PRICILLA LILY was born 30th April 1898 in Howard, Queensland to parents JOSEPH HEWLETT and ANNE aka ANNIE DUNSHAW (sometimes spelt DUNSHAN). PRICILLA LILY was actually in the birth records as LILLY POLILA HEWLETT. We are unsure if she changed it or it was just a sign of the times when people couldn’t always read write or spell. She was the 5th eldest of 10 children. She had 5 sisters and 4 brothers. Her dad was born in Monmouth, Wales UK. I haven't found where her mum came from yet.
