Santo GASPARI

Il quitte Sisco en 1814 pour faire ses études à Venise chez son oncle Salvatore, vicaire à la basilique St. Marc. Entre Bastia et Livourne, le navire qui l'emmène fait escale à Porto-Ferraio où les passagers sont reçus en audience par Napoléon 1er en exil. A l'issue de l'entretien, l'Empereur aurait dit au jeune Santo "Toi, mon petit, tu iras loin".
Aptès ses humanités à Venise il fait ses études de médecine à la célèbre université de Pise, puis, en 1829 il part avec son frère Joseph au Venezuela où il s'établit comme médecin à Ciudad Bolivar. Il y fut élu Gouverneur de l'état de GUYANA et l'avenue principale de la ville porterait encore son nom. Les placements que lui conseille son frère Simon-Jean lui permettent d'amasser une fortune non négligeable.
En 1860 il décide de revenir à Sisco et de s'y faire construire une demeure digne de lui: une villa de style toscan' souvenir,sans doute, de son long séjour à Pise.
Il contracte alors un mariage blanc avec Anna, fille de son frère Jean-Etienne, afin d'en faire son unique héritière. Une dispense lui est dûment accordée par Napoléon III.
Il était également un haut dignitaire de la Franc-Maçonnerie.
Son testament comporte de nombreux legs sous forme de rentes annuelles:
- 250 F+100 F à la fabrique de léglise St Martin pour des messes et l'entretien du Curé
- 100 F pour l'instituteur
- 300 F pour le médeçin à condition de soigner gratuitement les pauvres de la Commune
- Le restant de la rente sur un capital de 100.000 F pour l'Hôpital civil de Bastia
D'autres legs:
- sa maison de Ciudad Bolivar à l'hospice des pauvres
- 2OOO F au conseil municipal de Ciudad Bolivar por faire construire une chapelle à l'extrémité du Paseo Gaspari
- à sa femme (et nièce) Anne-Marie 55.000 F(en plus de la dot de 55.000 F également), l'usufruit de la nouvelle maison de Sisco et de tout l'étage de la maison de la place St Nicolas à Bastia
- ses autres biens à Ciudad Bolivar et l'usufruit de ses autres biens en Corse à son frère Jean-Etienne à condition...de faire un cadeau d'une valeur de 1000 F sous forme d'un objet de piété à sa belle-soeur Isabelle Ruiz de Gaspari
- 50.000 F à Angel de Gaspari fils de Simon-Jean
- 200.000 F plus la nue propriété des biens laissés en usufruit à sa femme plus sa bibliothèque à son neveu Toussaint Gaspari fils de Jean-Etienne.
- 25.000 F à chacune de ses nièces, sauf Marie Artaud, mais 15.000 à chacune de ses trois filles
A part ces quelques broutilles ses légataires universels sont ses frères Simon-Jean ert Jean-Etienne
