N.B. Bij oom Jasper en tante Leu ben ik, samen met vader en neef Klaas (van oom Sam), in de zomervakantie te logeren geweest. We gingen bosbessen plukken, en Klaas en ik maakten nieuw gaas vast op een hekwerk in Ede. Oom Jasper deed dit soort constructiewerk al meer dan het vroegere smidswerk, dat bestond uit alles wat te doen was voor een boerderij met paarden.
