Suspected father to family although this has not been proven yet. 1850 Census

does not list a father to this family as he is probably dead by then.

At this time William Winder is the only possibility. He is listed on the tax

list for Blount County, Tennessee for 1837. Listed in the U.S. Census for 1840

in McMinn County and the tax list for Van Buren County in 1845 living in the

third tax district. In 1846 his widow Martha is listed. Also listed in the 1845

and 1846 tax lists were Moses WINDER and Nathaniel WINDER. His brother James

WINDER died sometime in McMinn Co. Tenn. His funeral paid for by the county as

he was a pauper.
