    Notes from Obituary event: DORIS NELL MEADOWS, 82, of Cross City died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012.

    She moved to Cross City in 1956 from Laurel, Miss. She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing and crafts, putting puzzles together on the computer and jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed the time she spent with Jolene getting tea from McDonalds. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Chiefland Chapter 251 and a charter member of the First Assembly of God in Cross City.

    She is survived by son, Bobby (Carol) Meadows of Danielsville, Ga.; daughter, Sharlene (Joey) Sanders of Old Town; grandchildren, Mirla Bigda, J. B. Sanders and Jolene Sanders; brother, Morris L. Swartz of Raymond, Miss. and sister, Mae Jennings of Cartersville, Ga.

    Funeral services were held Nov. 26 at the First Assembly of God in Cross City with the Rev. Mike Brown and the Rev. Mike Carr officiating. Interment followed at Scrub Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Arrangements were placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City.
