Oberregierungsrat a.D.Dr. Alfred Zeller, Stuttgart, schreibt in Zellerbildnisse und Zellerschicksale aus 3 Jahrhunderten, zu 8. Dr. Alfred Paul Zeller, Oberregierungsrat, *1863: Der frühe Tod seines Vaters war auch für den damals noch nicht 4 Jahre alten Sohn ein schwerer Verlust. Die verwitwete Mutter zog mit ihren Kindern nach Stuttgart, wo ihr Sohn die erste Schulzeit durchmachte, insbesondere auch den Krieg von 1870 und den Truppeneinzug 1871 erlebte. Von 1873 bis 1878 besuchte er die von einem trefflichen Pädagogen geleitete Böblinger Lateinschule, dann 1 Jahr das Ludwigsburger Lyzeum und 3 Jahre das Stuttgarter Karlsgymnasium, wo er das Maturitätszeugnis erwarb. Nach Abdienung des Militärjahres 1882/83 in Tübingen studierte er dort 1883/1886 die Kameralwissenschaft und war Mitstifter und Vorkämpfer eines burschenschaftlichen Bundes. 1886 erstand er die erste und 1887 nach Referendartätigkeit in Stuttgart und Kirchheim die zweite Dienstprüfung mit gutem Erfolg. Nach 18monatiger Dienstleistung als Hilfskraft bei dem Hauptzollamt Heilbronn wurde er nach Tübingen versetzt, wo er beim Kameralamt als Finanzamtmann bis 1893 tätig war und daneben den Doktorgrad erwarb. In letzterem Jahre wurde er Regierungsassessor und Dozent für Rechtskunde an die landwirtschaftliche Hochschule Hohenheim berufen, wo er u.a. die Schaffung des Betriebsfonds für die Finanzverwaltung der Hochschule durchführte und, sobald es angängig war, das neue bürgerliche Recht seinen Vorlesungen zugrundelegte. In Hohenheim hat er auch seinen Hausstand begründet mit Ida geb. Camerer, Tochter des Medizinalrats Dr. Camerer in Urach. 1898 wurde er als Finanzassessor an das Steuerkollegium in Stuttgart berufen, wo er (ausgenommen eine 3jährige Tätigkeit bei der DomÃ;¤nendirektion von 1901 bis 1904) bis 1919 als Finanzrat und Oberfinanzrat tätig war und 15 Jahre als Personal- und Organisationsreferent wie auch als Vorsitzender einer Beschwerdekommission wirkte. Nach Ãœbergang der Steuerverwaltung an das Reich war er bis zu seiner Pensionierung 1929 Oberregierungsrat und ständiger Vertreter des Chefs beim Landesfinanzamt, wo er namentlich auch mit der Leitung der Einschätzung des Ertragswerts des landwirtschaftlichen Grundvermögens zur Vermögenssteuer beauftragt war. - Deutschland, Geburten und Taufen, 1558-1898, via https://www.myheritage.de/research/colle...
