Wouter Jongejans vertelde dat hij Cornelis ontmoet heeft op een tuindorp (vlak na de oorlog) Hij woonde toen samen en was gescheiden. Geen kinderen volgens hem. Hij was politiehonden africhter dus zal wel bij de politie hebben gewerkt.

Telefoongesprek op 26/5/2009 met Trees en Nel, vrouw van Cees:

In de oorlog, jaar onbekend, is Cornelis in een concentratiekamp terecht gekomen. (schaap gestolen om de kinderen eten te kunnen geven).
De kinderen zijn in 1941 uit huis geplaatst omdat de moeder er met een vriend van door was gegaan en de kinderen in de steek had gelaten.
Johannes Hendrikus en Wilhelmus waren géén kinderen van Cornelis maar van haar vriend. Wilhelmina heeft later met deze vriend nog meer kinderen gekregen,

Toen Cornelis uit het concentratiekamp kwam, waren al zijn kinderen uit huis geplaatst.
In Mijdrecht hebben Cees en Trees nog bij hem gewoond.

Er is nog wel contact geweest met Jacobus Johannes (Joop) die toendertijd in Nijmegen woonde.
