De Pakanbaroe-spoorweg (ook: Pakan-Baroe-spoorweg, Pekanbaru-spoorweg of Sumatra-spoorweg) was een van de zogenaamde dodenspoorwegen die in de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Azië aangelegd moesten worden in opdracht van de Japanse bezetter. De spoorweg van Pakanbaroe naar Muaro op Sumatra in Nederlands-Indië werd tussen september 1943 en augustus 1945 onder verschrikkelijke omstandigheden aangelegd door dwangarbeiders. In totaal werkten er aan de spoorweg bijna 50.000 arbeiders; de bouw kostte 26.000 van hen het leven. De spoorweg werd slechts eenmaal gebruikt.
