Adolf Loringa died in the battle of Jemgum in 1533 Adolf Loringa's first marriage was to a daughter of Enno Meners from Osterhusen. The descendants of this couple have in their crest three rings through a grape branch and with the horns of an oxadded in some cases.

There are three different representations of the ox horns. We find the crest with the ox horns for the first time on the tombstone of Enno Meners. But in this instance the ox horns include the forehead and a fringe. On the tombstone of Wiltet Loringa (+ 1566) and the wife of Detlef (+ 1584) there is an ox head with horns and ears. In another case we find the ox horns on the tombstone of Menver Loringa together with her husband, Havick Louwens (+ 1607). Here the ox horns are with the forehead. The same ox horns are to be found on the so-called "marriage chest" of Hieronimus Loringa. In the 17th century descendants of the Detlefs family used this as their family crest. The Detlef crest from the 16th century consisted of three clover leaves.

In his second marriage Adolf Loringa was married to Rixte Uldinga. In 1527 he was listed as landowner in Neermoor and in Neemoor Hammrich. On 20/6/1633 Alef Loerynck was a witness in Emden. Adolf Loringa fell in October 1533. Ubbo Emmius called him "Adolf Loringa of Lengen, son of Otto Papen, a man expierenced in war, who had suggested a better plan and who was innocently killed in the defeat of 1533 at Jemgum.
