    Van circa 1918 tot 1991 was de Dankbaarheid vervolgens in bezit van de familie Wieringa uit Groningen. Eerst voer vader Drewes Wieringa met de aak, onder andere met aardappelen, aardappelmeel, lijnzaad, mais, bieten en stenen.
    Nadat zoon Eppo eerst met een andere 'Dankbaarheid' (een tjalk) had gevaren, kocht hij in 1959 het schip van zijn vader. De mast en het mastdek werden van de aak verwijderd omdat de verlader het schip met een grijper moest kunnen lossen en laden.Het ruim werd tot aan het voordek doorgetrokken door de dekken 'om te vouwen' tot den.

Hij voer van 1918-1969 met de aak "de Dankbaarheid" (aardappelen, aardappelmeel,lijnzaad,mais, bieten, stenen).

volgens mij is dit het schip van Drewes Wierenga, ik heb bij Drewes W. zijn zoon in de kost gezeten in Groningen (zeehelden buurt),ik ging met de man wel eens zeilen op het Paterswoldse meer? om dat zijn kinderen hier geen zin in hadden.
Hij vertelde dan wel over zijn tijd dat hij bij zijn vader aan boord voer,als ik te veel aan het slingeren was om dat de zeilen niet goed stonden.
Dat ze bij zijn vader onder zeil een scheg zwaard lieten zakken het roer vast zetten en dat ze dan het schip op koers voeren op de zeilen.
Dit moet dan het product zijn waar nu over word geschreven
Ik heb vroeger nooit gezeild om dat mijn vader alles al aan de wal had gegooid toen ik uit de kap aan het kijken was.(dus het zei mij niet zo veel)
Dit schip heeft jaren lang op het Noord Willemskan. gelegen net buiten groningen (buiten haven geld),Drewes W. was toen uit gevaren maar is alleen aan boord blijven wonen. (begin jaren 50)
Heb je daar niet het hoornse diep ? volgen mij lag hij daar tegen over.
Ik ging er met zijn zoon op zondag er nog wel eens naar toe,zijn vrouw ging nooit mee om dat je nog een stukje over de dijk moest bij de koeien langs.
Denk dat het schip daar een 10 jaar heeft gelegen, later kwam ik zijn zoon Eppo Wierenga tegen en voer die met het schip,met een opduwer er bij welk te groot was als opduwer zijn oudste dochter stond altijd in de boot in weer en wind kind kwam erniet uit
Eppo had voor die tijd een tjalkscheepje van een 70 t, met een fordje in een roeiboot/opduwer,

Mijn kost baas vertelde ook wel dat ze veel met het schip in duisland zaten, hij is van boord gegaan toen hij is getrouwd.
