Van mijn oma Jantien Boekholt weet ik niet veel, ze is overleden in mijn tweede levensjaar. Ze heeft een zoon van haar ongehuwde dochter opgevoed, Helaas is deze op jonge leeftijd overleden. Ze hebben eerst op het bovenveen gewoond tussen Valthermond en Weerdinge en veel later zijn ze in Valthe komen wonen in een boerderijtje bij de schaapskuil. Dit is een grote water poel waar tegen de zomer de schapen in werden gewassen voor het scheren. Bij de winterdag werd het gebruikt als schaatsbaan. Verder is er weinig over haar bekend.
De tweeling Albert en Cornelis zijn gestorven om dat ze turf hadden gegeten.
