In Memoriam:
Albertje Vos werd in 1923 in Valthe geboren en ontdekte thuis al jong wat aanpakken was. Ze bezocht de basisschool in haar geboortedorp en ging daarna in Emmen en thuis aan het werk.
Toen zij in 1947 trouwde met Lucas Vos, verhuisde zij naar Hoofdstraat 89. De lijn van de landbouw werd zo doorgetroken, want ze hielp, naast haar verplichting voor de kinderen Hennie en Mans en de huishouding ook op de boerdeij mee. Ze was actief en snel en ze wist ook van beslissingen nemen. Later, op Schoolstraat 1, werd alles overzichtelijker, maar ze bleef haar taak binnen en buiten zo lang mogelijk zelf doen. Haar eigen tijd besteedde ze aan breien, lectuur (vooral de krant), t.v. prgramma's, bezig zijn in de keuken en omgaan met de dieren, met name paarden. Ook uitstapjes maakten haar leven rijker.

Met haar man, die in 1988 overleed, deelde ze meer dan 40 jaar lief en leed. In de kring van de familie heeft ze veel gedaan. Met haar schoonzuster Griet had ze een byzondere band. In buurt en dorp (plattelandsvrouwen) speelde ze haar eigen rol, sociaal betrokken, met gevoel voor rechtvaardigheid en humor. Voor haar mening durfde ze beslist uit te komen. Uiteindelijk moest ze naar de Bleerinck en leefde ze meer in een eigen wereldje. Als dooplid van de vrijzinnige kerk heeft ze geprobeerd waarden als hoop, liefde, inzet in praktijk te brengen, in vertrouwen op een dragende kracht onder haar bestaan.
