In 1903 staat Lambertus Voorhaar als gedaagde vermeld in een klapper op naam van de veroordeelden van de Arrondissementsrechtbank Amsterdam. Op 8 september wordt aan hem een dagvaarding betekend. De officier vraagt vanwege mishandeling een boete van 15 gulden tegen hem. Uit de overwegingen blijkt dat hij er van wordt beschuldigd dat hij Izaak Voorhaar moedwillig en gewelddadig met een roeispaan heeft geslagen en pijnlijk getroffen. Izaak is de vijf jaar jongere broer van Lambertus. De beklaagde bekent dat hij het ten laste gelegde heeft gepleegd op op 23 juni 1903 in de namiddag om 7 uur. Beiden bevonden zich in een roeibootje op de Kortenhoefsche Vaart. Wat begon als een woordentwist over een reeds lang tussen hen bestaand geschil eindigde in slagen met een roeispaan. Vanwege getuigenverklaringen die deze lezing bevestigen wordt Lambertus schuldig bevonden aan mishandeling en overeenkomstig de eis op 2 oktober 1903 veroordeeld tot een boete van 15 gulden.
