Notes about Antonius Janmaat

De ouders van Antonius Janmaat bewoonden een boerderij aan de 's-Gravelandseweg 125 te Hilversum. Na hun overlijden werd het boerenbedrijf voortgezet door Antonius. Maar de bewoners van de omliggende villa's kregen steeds meer bezwaar tegen de boerderij met zijn hooimijt en mestopslag. Antonius wilde de boerderij echter voortzetten. Uiteindelijk verkocht jonkheer Six hem een perceel aan de Corverslaan voor de bouw van een nieuwe boerderij. Deze werd in de loop van 1921 volgens ontwerp van C. J. Kuyper opgeleverd. Eind dat jaar trouwde Antonius met de 21 jaar jongere Hilversumse Jacoba Gijsberta Koppel die in het 'Diergaardepark' had gewerkt. Na hun verhuizing werd de oude boerderij afgebroken. Het echtpaar kreeg vier kinderen.
In 1951 overleed Antonius en in 1988 Jacoba. Zoon Adrianus Johannes en dochter Johanna Theodora wonen er nog steeds. Zij vertelden dat zij als kinderen iedere dag verse melk naar het paviljoen (is het Diergaardepark aan de 's-Gravelandseweg 141 - jv) moesten brengen en dat hun moeder van jonkheer Six de was niet buiten mocht hangen. Hij wilde daar niet tegenaan kijken.
