Notes about Gerrit Roelofs Cranendonck

Heemraad in 1497, landeigenaar in Oud-Reijerwaard, vermeld 1484/1515. "GHERIT ROELOFSZ ende BEATRIS syn wyf" vestigen een memorie in de kerk van Ridderkerk, vermeld 1545 en 1550/68. GERRIT was in 1460 een van de "ghemeenen bueren" van Ridderkerk, die 1/3 deel van de benodigde gelden voor de aanbesteding van een nieuwe kerk inlegden. Hij was dus al zeer jong een kapitaalkrachtig man, hoewel zijn vader nog in leven was. De verklaring ligt waarschijnlijk in een erfenis van moederszijde. Dit kan door verschillende afkomst van zijn landerijen aannemelijk worden gemaakt.
