Jet Veth slaagt in 1907 aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam voor het kandidaatsexamen in de rechtswetenschap (Haarlem's Dagblad, 6 juli 1907) en in 1910 voor het doctoraal examen (Het Centrum, 23 februari 1910). De Universiteit van Amsterdam promoveert Jet later in 1910 tot doctor in de rechten (Leidsch Dagblad, 28 juni 1910). Jet is plaatsvervangend secretaris (NRC, 12 juni 1911 (avond)) en secretaris van de Voogdijraad in Almelo. Zij is verder curator in faillissementen (de 1e vermelding hiervan staat in Het Centrum van 1 september 1915 en dit loopt door tot in 1939), rechter-plaatsvervanger in de rechtbank Almelo, lerares staatsinrichting aan de HBS in Almelo (1919-1930) (Het Centrum, 1 februari 1919, Leidsch Dagblad, 8 augustus 1930) en lid van het bestuur van de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Armenzorg en Weldadigheid (Nieuwe Leidsche Courant, 29 september 1937).

Het Leidsch Dagblad van 7 oktober 1911 schrijft dat Jet op de sprekerslijst staat van de Bond voor Vrouwenkiesrecht. In de Nieuwe Leidsche Courant van 2 november 1925 staat dat Jet in een door de Nationale Vrouwenraad ingestelde commissie zit tot onderzoek van 'den een, of anderen dwangmaatregel tegenover diegenen, die hun wettelijke onderhoudsplichten verzuimen'. Jet woont in Den Haag op Van Blankenburgstraat 171 (1911-1914) en vanaf 1914 in Hengelo aan de Enschedeweg. Zij is ridder (Nieuwe Leidsche Courant, 17 september 1946) en officier in de orde van Oranje-Nassau (Nieuwe Leidsche Courant, 29 april 1955).
