Tot 2 jan. 1885 woont hij bij ouders en broers/zusters. Laatste adres is Frederikstraat. Op die datum vertrekt hij naar Kampen, om zes jaar later (op 6 jan. 1891) terug te keren vanuit Utrecht. Hij woont in de Griffestraat, bij zijn moeder Klaziena Sebens, zijn broers Jan en Harm en zijn zuster Cornelia Klaziena. Vader Cornelis is intussen overleden.
Op 24 aug. 1892 vertrekt hij weer, nu naar Velsen. Ergens daarna vertrekt hij naar Suriname, waar hij op 13 nov. 1900 op 33-jarige leeftijd overlijdt aan de gele koorts.
Hij was ongehuwd.
