Steenhouwerij en Tegelbakkerij Van Traa

De zaak, waarvan de firma C. Van Traa en Co. de laatste vertegenwoordigster was, dateert uit het midden der 18de eeuw. In 1733 kocht Wynant van Trae, metselaar, twee huisjes en erven aan de Oostzijde van de Zwanesteeg achter het verbrande Klooster. Bij zijn dood in 1765 woonde hij nog daar. Toen bestond de steenhouwerij reeds; het oudste kantoorboek begint met 1765. Zij was vermoedelijk gevestigd in het Boschje aan den Goudschen Singel. Van de beide zonen van Wynant van Trae, Willem en Matthijs, heeft de laatste de zaak opgericht
