Cornelis Jacobus (1856-1908) en Cornelia Johanna Beuk (1860-1935) waren beiden afkomstig uit Mijdrecht, de bakermat van de familie Omzigt. Zij huwden in 1878 en vermoedelijk hebben zij zich direct na hun huwelijk in Leimuiden op de boerderij gevestigd.

Op de boerderij werden zeventien kinderen geboren, waaronder Johan, broeder Adriaan, zuster Cornelina, Kees, Dirk, Marie, Jan, Sjaan, Willem, Ko, Piet en Bets. Het eerste kind werd geboren in 1879, het stief binnen twee maanden. Maar liefst vier kinderen stierven in het eerste levensjaar. De landbouwer Arnoldus Aartman was getuige bij de aangifte van de eerste vijf kinderen. De brugwachter Gerrit Bergman was tot negenmaal toe getuige bij de aangifte van geboorte en soms ook bij de aangifte van overlijden. De laatste keer dat hij als brugwachter voor Cornelis Jacobus Omtzigt getuigde was hij 66 jaar.

Jarenlang werd de boerderij bewoond door vijf ongehuwde broers en zussen, namelijk door Kees, Sjaan, Ko, Piet en Bets. Ko Omtzigt (1896-1988) was het veertiende kind, hij trouwde in 1950 op 54-jarige leeftijd met Toos Zijerveld uit Ter Aar. Piet (1898-1982), het zestiende kind, volgde hem een jaar later, op 53-jarige leeftijd trad hij in het huwelijk met Cornelie (Cor) Buys.

Hij werkte tot 1970 op de boerderij. De anderen bleven ongehuwd en verlieten na het huwelijk van Ko de boerderij. Kees (1884-1958), het vijfde kind, werd veekoopman. Sjaan was het twaalfde kind en Bets de jongste. Voor haar werd aan de kant van de Drecht het fraaie tuinhuis gebouwd. Zij is langdurig ziek geweest en verbleef dag en nacht in dit tuinhuis. Sinds de jaren '50 van de vorige eeuw werd de boerderij alleen nog door Ko en zijn vrouw Toos bewoond.
