Bakkerij van Funs en To Reijnen.

In mei 1927 stichtten Funs Reijnen uit Panningen en To van de Laar een bakkerij in het voormalig cafépand Egchel 66. Op 4 maart 1928 diende Funs Reijnen, van beroep bakker, een aanvraag in voor uitbreiding en verbouwing van de bakkerij en de installatie van een elektromotor van 3 pk voor een brooddeegmachine. Een ondernemer moest het toen hebben van een breed assortiment, dus Funs verkocht brood, banket, klompen, snoep, ijs, garens en aanverwante artikelen. Funs
runde de zaak met echtgenote To, een dienstbode, een knecht en losse hulpen. Aan het bakken werd niet veel verdiend, de mensen brachten zelf de deeg voor het brood en voor de vlaai. Voor het bakken van een vlaai werd drie en van een brood twee cent gerekend. Als het zeer druk was hielp Jac Joosten (van Kubbe Jup) mee. Op 7 februari 1958 nam zoon Maan de zaak, die verbouwd werd tot een aantrekkelijke winkelruimte, over. Op 19 oktober 1966 werd deze eerste Egchelse Kroonzelfbediening geopend, waarna met bakken werd gestopt in 1967. Tijdens de opening van de verbouwde
winkel merkte oude grondlegger Funs nog op, dat hij zoveel TL-lichtbalken aan het plafond van de winkel
wel erg overdreven vond. Omdat de concurrentie van de grootwinkelbedrijven in Panningen te groot werd, stopten
Maan en Jo in 1975. en werd het pand aan de huidige Egchelseweg 38 (voorheen Hoekerstraat 1) verbouwd tot woonhuis. De Ginomie van Jeubilas In 1975 werd in het pand Hoekerstraat 1a (nu Egchelseweg 38) door Doné Janssen en Rina Reijnen een vestiging van ”De Ginomie van Jeubilas” geopend. De ouders van Doné dreven een soortgelijke winkel aan de Markt in Panningen. Het voormalige duivenhok werd omgebouwd tot hondentrimsalon en wasruimte. Voor de hondentrimsalon bestond een uitgebreide klantenkring in en buiten heel Limburg. Er was ook een afdeling tropische vissen ingericht, waar een 100- tal kleine en grote aquaria opgesteld stond. In 1979 werd gestopt met de winkel aan de Egchelseweg en werd de hondentrimsalon verplaatst naar de Dr. Ariënsstraat te Panningen
