Waarschijnlijk betreft dit de in Zaltbommel geboren en als 'Janes' de Zwar(d)t geregistreerde militair (Bron: nationaal archief). Beroep: Metselaar. Militair: Tussen 1-8-1795 en 2-10-1801 o.a. als ruiter in het 1e regiment zware cavalerie van Van der Duijn (2 jaar en 8 maanden). Daarna bij het 4e regiment cavalerie als ruiter 6 jaar en 2 maanden. Op 1-10-1801 (op zijn 26e) gereëngageerd onder Luitenant kolonel Macpherson. '31-12-1801 met paspoort bij reductie. Blonde haren, blauwe ogen, platte neus, grote mond, ronde kin en glad van aangezicht.'
