Op 24-7-1918 is hij weer vertrokken naar Ter Aar.
De Rijnbode 19-10-1927 vermeldt dat T. van der Ster,met f1296,00 de laagste inschrijver is bij de aanbesteding door Dijkgraaf en Heemraden van polder Nieuwkoop van het ophogen van 550m kade langs de Hoekschen Aar. Het werk wordt aan hem gegund.
Ook was Thomas maatschappelijk behoorlijk actief, zoals blijkt uit de volgende berichtgevingen in de krant.
