In het huwelijksregister Groningen 1917, nr. 370 wordt op 19 juli 1917 het huwelijk geregistreerd van Jakob van der Noord, oud 28 jaar, met Pieterke van der Meulen, oud 23 jaar,
In de huwelijksakte wordt als beroep van de bruidegom vermeld dat hij chauffeur is en zijn vader Pieter van der Noord is timmerman. De ouders van Pieterke van der Meulen zijn beide overleden. Naast de ouders van de bruidegom zijn als getuigen aanwezig 1e Enno van der Noord oud drieentwintig jaren, kellner, broeder van den echtgenoot en 2e Egbert Gernaat, oud dertig jaren, opzichter, neef van den echtgenoot, beide wonende te Groningen.
Bij de ondertekening van de akte wordt vermeld dat de moeder van de echtgenoot (Grietje Gernaat) niet kan schrijven daar zij de schrijfkunst niet geleerd heeft.
Jakob van der Noord wordt later evenals zijn vader en een aantal van zijn broers timmerman.
Zij zijn beide begraven op het Esserveld in Groningen-zuid.
