Op 3 juni 1797 vindt de eerste registratie in Groningen plaats van het voorgenomen huwelijk van Derk Jans, van Veendam met Anna Hindriks, van Godlinze pro qua Jan Alders als zwager. In de kantlijn wordt vermeld: “Nb deeze persoonen zijn op de proclamatienlijst weder doorgeschrabd dewijl zij vergeeten hebben op donderdag den 8 Junij hun gerichtlijk ouderlijk consentement ter Weeskamer te bezorgen onder welke voorwaarden dezelven op den 3 Junij zijn opgetekend.” Op 17 juni 1797 vindt een tweede registratie in Groningen plaats. In de kantlijn wordt vermeld: “op ordre van de President twee Proclamatien te gelijk geaccordeerd”. Waarna het huwelijk op 25 juni 1797 wordt bevestigd.
Uit dit huwelijk is een dochter Janneke geboren, gedoopt op 7 oktober 1801 in de A-kerk en geboren aan de Pottebakkersrijge in Groningen. Zij is overleden op 24 mei 1827 in Groningen.
