Notes about Petronella "Pie" Heijnis

Ook zij heeft het dempen van de Waal en de Biersloot meegemaakt, tevens de bouw van de katholieke kerk aan de Hoogstraat. Ze zal in haar kinderjaren wel meegeholpen hebben in het houshouden en volgend de familieverhalen is ze ook visloopster geweest. Ze moest in die tijd met een jok ( juk) op haar schouders lopen van Vlaardingen naar Rotterdam. Toen ze trouwde in 1882 zal ze al haar tijd hebben besteed aan het opvoeden van de kinderen. In 1940, twee maanden voor het uitbreken van de tweede wereldoorlog is ze overleden.
