Vlak voor de bevrijding kwam hij om het leven tijdens het Ardennenoffensief tussen Luxemburg en Belgie begin ’45. Hij is begraven in Luxemburg, American Cemetery Plot E Row 10 Grave 38. Hij kreeg het Purple Heart welk hieronder staat afgebeeld.
