Notes about Carolus Jan Vandamme

De enige zoon van Ferdinand Van Damme en Isabella De Clerck huwde te St.-Jan-in-Eremo op 6 juli 1874 met Louisa Maria WIJFFELS, geboren te Schoondijke (Zeeuws-Vlaanderen), 16 november 1851, dochter van Carolus Ludovicus en van Sofia Christina CALON, landbouwers te Biervliet (30).  Het huwelijkskontrakt werd verleden voor Meester De Smedt te Schoondijke.

Carolus en Louisa boerden vanaf 25 januari 1875 op ENGELENDAEL te St.-Jan-in-Eremo en moeder Louisa zal daar het leven schenken aan 7 kinderen.

Vader Carolus Van Damme overleed er op 30 januari 1893, 52 jaar oud, aan de gevolgen van longtuberculose (31).

Louisa Wijffels hertrouwde op 21 februari 1894 te St.-Jan-in-Eremo met Theodoor Hectoor Isidoor Van Damme.  Hij was geboren te Lapscheure op 28 februari 1867, als zoon van Jacobus Van Damme en van Sophia Jansens.  Jacobus was geen familie van onze tak Van Damme.

Louisa en Theodoor hebben te St.-Jan-in-Eremo verder geboerd en ze zijn daarna te St.-Laureins op rust gegaan.  Louisa Wijffels overleed er op 1 september 1911 en Theodoor Van Damme op Oudejaarsavond
