Uit de Schepenregisters van de Stad Lier nr.1241,akte 32 d.d.24 juni 1443 koopt Jan van Assche Wouterszoon van Margriet Zegers,dochter van Jan Zegers en Liesbeth Boykens,een vierde van een hoeve met achterliggende boomgaard,gelegen buiten de Leuvense Poort.De rest van de hoeve had hij voordien reeds gekocht van Liesbeth Boykens de moeder van Margriet Zegers.
In het Schepenregister 1243 nr.307 d.d.11 oktober 1463 van de Stad Lier wordt Jan van Assche vermeld met zijn gezin.In de rekening van 1472 meer specifiek van 16 november 1471 tot 15 november 1472 (Archief OCMW te Lier tot 1800,inv.nr.316) wordt Joannes Van Assche als meester en regeerder van de Tafel van de Heilige Geest vermeld, samen met Jan Corten, Jan Tsas en Jan Cuypers.
