Notes about Wouter Joanneszoon van Assche

Wouter was eerst kapelaan in Emblem en vanaf 20 januari 1486 tot aan zijn overlijden Priester.In 1500 kreeeg hij van zijn superieuren toestemming voor een bedevaart naar Rome waar hij i.v.m. zijn overlijden niet aan toe kwam.
In het Schepenregister van Lier 1243 nr.307 d.d.11 oktober 1463 wordt Wouter vermeld met zijn broers en zussen en in het Schepenregister 1247 nr.740 d.d.31-1-1490 wordt hij vermeld als heer Wouter van Assche, priester waar hij wettelijk heeft verkocht en overgedragen t.b.v. Jan van Ranst en Margriet Colibrants zijn vrouw een hof met grond en toebehoren in de Clusestraat.
In de matricule van de Universiteit van Leuven wordt hij op 1488 vermeld als zijnde afgestudeerd in de godgeleerdheid.
In de Poorterboeken van de Stad Lier wordt op 18-6-1518 Aert van Assche Poorter te Lier als natuurlijke zoon van de priester heer Wouter van Assche en Lysbeth Wagemans. Wouter van Assche bediende de kapel van 'Sint-Gummarus ter Cluyse' de huidige Kluizekerk.De stad Lier betaalde voor zijn bediening van 1494 tot 1498 jaarlijks één mottoen(waarde:13 denieren). Aangezien er nog sprake is van een oude munt,gaat het wellicht om een vastgeroeste jaarlijkse betaling waarvan de oorsprong ver te zoeken is.
