Herman trouwt (kerk) op dinsdag 10 mei 1712 in Groningen (A Kerk) 'Menke Molaan als Broer' (1) met de 23-jarige Joanna Adelheidis Mollan ook genaamd Johanna Molanus en Johanna Molaans, dochter van Joannes Mollan "dictus Flebbe" en Anna Flebbe. Joanna is geboren in Löningen bij Quakenbrück, is RK gedoopt op donderdag 4 november 1688 aldaar (getuigen waren Virgo Anna Joanna Gertrudis zur Vehr(?), Thalia Mollan en Joannes Crull), is overleden voor woensdag 22 maart 1724 in Groningen. Joanna werd hoogstens 35 jaar, 4 maanden en 18 dagen.
Rene Remkes 17-5-2013: De vader Joannes is denkelijk ingetrouwd op de Mollan-boerderij, vanwaar de naam Flebbe. Hoewel Joanna RK gedoopt is, zijn alle voorkomende personen Mollan en Flebbe(n) in Löningen luthers. Löningen is/was overwegend katholiek. Mijn bron hiervoor is de Status Animarum van 1712.
Bert Spelde 18-5-2013: In het Evangelisch Luthers Heirat Register 1694-1899 van Kirchspiel Menslage, komen meerde personen voor met de achternaam Molan, ook een Johann en een Menke. In het aangrenzende Kirchspiel Essen, wordt een Johan Molan in 1612 genoemd als Luthers predikant,die afgelost werd door een RK-priester die niet erg tevreden was met het financieel beheer van zijn voorganger.
