Johan Bartholomeus[V][M] [1758], ged. te Hilvarenbeek op 29 apr 1599, ovl. te Turnhout, Belgie op 14 sep 1675, In het boek "Hilvarenbeek onder de hertog en de generaliteit" vermeld Adriaenssen op pag 326, dat Johan de Cort op 26 april 1599 is gedoopt als zoon van mr. Bartholomeus de Cort, sekretaris van Hilvarenbeek en notaris, en van Adriana Joorden van Gorop. Zijn broers Jordaen, Laureys, Christaen en Hendrick (zie zelfde boek pag 330, 331, 331 en 338) waren academisch geschoold, zodat het niet onwaarschijnlijk is dat ook Johan naar een universiteit werd gezonden. Op 21 november 1623 bewees zijn vader de 'titulus beneficii' van Jan, die toen 'clericus Buscoduensis' waas, te weten 6 mud en 6 lopen rogge of 20 gulden jaarlijks inkomsten uit het Sint Anthonius altaar te Hilvarenbeek . Samen met zijn 'titulus patrominii' was dat voldoende voor zijn priesterwijding in 1625. In 1631 werd heer Johan na veel problemen en processen kanunnik te Hilvarenbeek. Tevoren was hij vicepastoor van Duffel en vermoedelijk heeft hij het aan deze funktie verbonden benefice geruild voor zijn dij. In 1634 werd hij deken van het deftige Venerabele Gilde van Hilvarenbeek. Ook te Turnhout verwierf Johan een kanunniksdij; hij vestigde zich daar uiterlijk in 1648 metterwoon. In 1651 werd zijn inkomen met dat van het Maria-Magdalena-altaar uit Turnhout verrijkt. In de Nordstrandse oecomenisch -ekonomische spekulaties van zijn broer Christaen investeerde hij 17.000 gulden; de Turnhoutse kapitteldeken wist hij te bewegen tot een participatie van 1000 gulden. Johan de Cort is op 14 september 1675 te Turnhout overleden en werd begraven onder de zerk van zijn heeroom Christaen de Cort (zie zelfde boek pag 320), aldus Adriaenssen.
